The newer version of Easy Grade Pro makes better XML files for importing your grades into the Portal. You do not need to create a new gradebook to take advantage of this upgrade, the new version can open your old gradebook just fine.

Windows 2000 and above

1. 1.Make note of the Registration number for Easy Grade. The registration number is the same as it was before and varies by school site. You can launch the old version and copy it down by clicking on the Help menu then “About Easy Grade Pro...” . You may also email your Technology Resource Teacher or Network Technician for this number.

2. 2.Use the “Add or Remove Programs” Control Panel to remove the older version of EGP before installing the new version. Caution: do not delete older gradebooks that you wish to use with the new version. If your gradebook files are stored outside of your EGP Program folder this should not be a problem (Document folder, Desktop, etc... are all fine). Backing up a copy of your current gradebook to another location is always a good idea and you may want to do this now.
   

3. 3.Download a fresh EGP version 4.0 and install it. No need to launch EGP at this time.
   

4. 4.Download the 4.0.3 update and install it.
   

5. 5.After the update when you launch Easy Grade Pro, it should read version 4.0.3.15. on the startup screen.
   

Mac OS X

Caution: do not delete older gradebooks that you wish to use with the new version and wait to empty the Trash until you know all is working well. Backing up a copy of your current gradebook to another location is always a good idea and you may want to do this now.
   

3. 3.Download EGP 4.0.3 and double click on it to expand or extract the .zip file. Drag the Easy Grade Pro 4.0.3 folder into your Applications folder.
   

4. 4.Launch the new version of EGP. It should read version 4.0.3.15 on the startup screen.
